We are now seeking a Distict Supervisor in Training We are seeking candidates that have a strong sense of character & ability to perform well in a structured environment.

United by a passion to serve, we offer the latest innovations in food services, technology, and equipment which allows us to serve approximately 600,000 meals a month to inmates and seniors, and we do so at the highest levels of service and integrity. 

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates the work of direct reports to create stability and consistency within the facility including meal preparation, cooking, and sanitation in all prep, storage, freezer, cooler, and reach-in areas.
  • Ensures that all food products are prepared to company recipes and standards for regular meals, medical diets, special events, and caterings.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining appropriate inventory levels at all times including utilization, rotation, and storage.
  • Responsible for receiving all merchandise to insure quality and consistency.
  • Responsible for orientation and training of direct reports and inmate/resident workers assigned to area of responsibility.
  • Ensures direct reports maintain strict adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for appropriate scheduling and staffing of assigned locations.
  • Responsible for presenting approved disciplinary action on all assigned employees.
  • Responsible for communicating time clocking system to all direct reports and confirming this is being done properly.
  • Responsible for audit awareness and working with the Regional Manager to correct any issues as they arise.
  • Work with Regional Manager to prepare assigned facilities for DOC inspections (will have a quarterly mock DOC inspection to measure processes, policies, finances, and staff adherence to company objectives.)
  • Reports information regarding employees, customers, facilities, equipment, on a daily basis.
  • Has direct interactive contact with customer on site.
  • Responsible for communicating any customer complaints and issues to Regional Manager.

 

Secondary Functions:

  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Reports any unordinary circumstances, facility maintenance issues, and equipment problems to Regional Manager and authorized contact.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate records of foods served, including all special and medical meals, as legal documentation.
  • Complete and submit inventories as required.
  • Submit all required paperwork in a timely fashion including but not limited to:

       Weekly Sales Report

       Bulk & Bread Orders

       Accounts Payable Bills

       Monthly P-Card Statement coding detail including receipts

  • Perform cooking, cleaning, and essential day to day functions as needed.
  • Coordinate inmate/resident workers to cook, clean and assist as needed.
  • Process new hire/termination paperwork and submit timely.
  • Perform other duties as may be directed by the supervisor and/or designate.
  • Responsible for inmate/resident safety training.

 

Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules.
  • Knowledge of state and government regulations and Department of Correction's standards.
  • Completion of SERV Safe or equivalent training upon hire.
  • Must be able to use weights and measures outlined on a conversion chart.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Ability of follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of Food Service standards, methods, practices, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to explain instructions and guidelines to others effectively.
  • Ability to train and assign work to employees.

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Open office and production kitchen environment with noise from peripherals, intercom and other associates.
  • Requires employee to bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.
  • Exposure to moving equipment and parts. Burns from kitchen equipment and electric shock are possible.
  • Time spent traveling to vendor and customers in high traffic areas. Potential exposure to automobile accidents causing bodily damage.
  • Attendance at meetings may include some overnights.
  • Inmate/resident interaction.
